How do Creative Processing Groups Work and What Will I Do There?

Creative Arts Therapies Processing Groups are Psychotherapy Group Therapy offerings run by Venus Lukic. They are a hybrid between Drama Therapy, Poetry Therapy and Talk-based therapy. In terms of Psychotherapy, Drama Therapy and Poetry Therapy uniquely connect through the lens of Narrative and Experiential Therapy.

In these groups participants will be guided through creative exploration, they will work to express themselves honestly and sometimes playfully.

Have you ever joined an improv or acting class, read a piece of text or watched a dramatic scene and thought to yourself… wow, that storyline really touched something about my own experience! Well, in a Creative Arts Therapies workshop combining Drama and Poetry Therapy techniques, you could have that experience and then talk it out in a supportive group if it came up in a session. Others might explore similar experiences with familiar topics in groups and all group sessions are guided by the facilitator. Dramatherapy adds a somatic component to sessions and allows group members to explore the knowledge that their own bodies hold through dramatic engagement, subtle movements, and storied expression.
